i do when i take the codes, but i totally don't think about it when i have to make the code myself. i end up making more work for myself the way i do it. *sigh* and since i didn't have the code, and since IIII don't think about hotlinking, i didn't figure you would. i'll make sure to think that way from now on, and announce when i change my buttons [when other people take them.... ] i also usually edit people's buttons, hahahaha, to fit stuff better. i always have.

treehuggericons: treehuggericons is a pervert.treehuggericons on November 2nd, 2007 06:48 am (UTC)
no, i don't really edit them at all. examples of my editing: getting rid of the white on yours, that large photosourcechal was too large, and i minimized it. little things like that, just to make my site, and their button, like nice.

i do it too! but that's what buttons are for, so..... like.... come on! i don't go through lists of affiliates. i think it's ridiculous and a waste of time. hahaha. i'm missing out on a lot of good stuff, i'm sure.

i do the same thing with books at the library. go through the titles, find an interesting title, check out the cover art and read anything on the cover or flyleaves, then read the first page & and a random page inside the book. if i still like it at this point, i take it home! i have never checked out a book i didn't enjoy with this system. i used to check out books i thought i would love but ended up hating before i did all that.

oh! thank you so much! hahaha. i copied the code straight out of photobucket... >_>

yes. exactly. it's a preview. which is difficult, because one site could have all sorts of different stuff. so i guess you would just ask certain sites to put certain buttons up for you.

i do the exact same thing. like last summer i was in my obsessed-with-peter-pan phase [again] and searched for j m barrie and peter pan and wendy and what not in the search, and i found two of my favorite books that way! [the lost girls, and capt jas hook - hook as a teenager!]

oh boy. well. okay. [i haven't described 'types of books that i like' to people in a very long time. i normally just talk about books they bring up, or if a topic reminds me of a certain book.] alright, i like [this will be a partial list of favorite books, and a partial list of genres]:

+martyn pig. [it's an angsty book about a boy who accidentally kills his father and what he does after that. <3 i've read it a million times.]
+the alice books. [lewis carroll is such a creepy guy! haha]
+life of pi. [the first part of the book is about the boy - pi - growing up in his father's zoo, and learning all about the animals. the second part is them traveling across seas and the boat crashing and him getting stuck on a life boat with a tiger, hyenna, and an orangutang -forgot how to spell that. the third part is him living on the boat, and what the vegetarian boy does to survive. the fourth part i won't say anything at all to you, except that you're forced to decide what is reality and what is make believe.]
+kite runner. [a rich boy grows up with an unloving father, and a best friend who happens to be the familys 'slave' if you will. bad things happen. the rich boy is an asshole, and then he's just kind of a jerk, and then the book ends.]
+poe&horror&thriller&mystery. [i used to read just this kind of stuff a few years back, and then i stopped, and now i'm sort of reading it again.]
+harry potter. ...yah, i'm one of them.
+FANTASY. [i think this sums up pretty much everything i read, actually....]
+slaughter house five. [my grandma hates this book.]
+great gatsby. [i read it in one night.]
+chicklit - princess diaries, ella enchanted, things like that.
+shakespeare. [i grew up reading plays, his work being most of them.]

i feel like there's a large chunk missing. i suppose that's most of it though. you at least get a general idea. i really don't want to send this to you, because i know as soon as i do i will remember something i didn't tell you. :[

what do you like to read?!

treehuggericons: treehuggericons likes milo and alexis.treehuggericons on November 2nd, 2007 08:30 am (UTC)
hahaha, yes i do. not always, and not just classics, but anything that i find myself obsessed with [which is quite a few things].

they are both very good! lost girls is about wendy's great grandaughter - wendy! it talks about wendy, and jane, and jane's daughter [her name has escaped me], and wendy, and then her daughter [berry or barrie or some spelling like that]. i fell in love with it the instant i saw the cover. jas hook is written by the guy who wrote the screenplay for hook, so it has a lot of similar ideas and themes. there is a lot missing, and it ends oddly, but i thought it was a very good read last summer!

i'm always told how broad my taste [in everything] is! i'm glad you'll feel comfortable sharing your opinions and what not with me!

you read much 'smarter' books than i do. i never attempted to read the classics. i mean, not like JUST THE CLASSICS. i have read quite a few, but not.... oh you get the idea. hahaha. i've only read slaughter house! i'm told it's very different from his other writing, so i'm rather nervous to read anything else. i like to think that i would love mr chuck, but i couldn't get into fight club about a year ago, and haven't tried any of his stuff since. [it's weird because that's one of my favorite movies] i have not read a single jane austen book. i haven't really seen the movies either. a small sampling. i think i might like a few of them, but i couldn't read them all together - they sound too similar! i own flowers in the attic, and i opened it searching for when they fall in love, and ran into a juicy chapter, and read four or so chapters in what seemed like an hour, while sitting on the edge of my hamper. it was very entertaining. [i ought to go pick that up and start from the beginning]

i've mostly stuck to books assigned in class, books i heard about over and over from friends, and books that seem interesting at the library.

there's a book by.... oh no! franz kafka?! called ... oh no! .... transformation? man, i suck. i knew the title before i started writing this whole thing, and now i can't remember. [it's about a guy that turns into a cockroach, and how he and his family deal with it. it's WEIRD.]

the first chapter of invisible man. [i couldn't read the rest of the book, but the intro chapter is one of the best things i've ever read. you might like the rest of it - most of my friends did]

magic kingdom for sale sold. [tee hee. the title kind of sums it up. a guy from our world buys a magic kingdom out of a catalog. i stole it from my mom a few years ago, and haven't given it back.]

[i wish i was in my room by my bookcase. i'll probably tell you more later, when i am near it]

all of the books i singled out in my last comment.

i hope you enjoy what of these you read!

yah, i don't designate reading times either. and i also have books out of the library for long periods of time without reading them :[ it's pretty upsetting. and yah, your reason for reading classics is really good!

aw. it's kind of true i guess. broad tastes and no tastes are mighty similar, i suppose. but i still know what i DON'T like, so i don't really think that's it either.

hahaha, my music taste is the most varied of everyone i know, but i'm REALLY bad at trying to reccomend things to people, so i generally keep my mouth shut about that.

i've only read that part of flowers, and that's all.

metamorphosis! that's it. hahaha. i read it over a year ago, and totally spaced it on the title. i thought it was really interesting. i haven't read anything else written by him.

it is really cute! you really ought to check it out.

i'll take my laptop into my room... tomorrow? i think that's when i'll have time.

i am a person who never shuts up in oral conversation, so why people are shocked when i don't stop typing is beyond me.

i love being able to blabber. it's one of my favorite hobbies! haha.

aw. that makes me really sad, because i am an attention HOG. that might also be an insecurity though, because i haven't been around the same amount of people i'm used to, and i'm actually scared to try and contact friends i haven't spoken to in months. SCARED. oy.

i really do love blabbering! i'm glad you like reading it! we will get along very well! hahaha.

treehugger_love but i NEVER go there anymore. :[ the friends i had on there stopped writing posts, and stopped commenting on mine, so i just stopped using it. i miss it though. i use it sometimes for private entries, and for attempted advertising, hahaha.

it is strange finding people that you feel are very similar to you!

that's what i'm here for now too. icons and communities.

i would use this as a regular journal, but.... just no. hahaha. i should have made treehuggericons a community, and just used treehugger_love, but it's too late now. :[

i keep thinking i'll delete this account, and steal the name for a community. thank you! my friend literally punhed me in the arm when she saw treehugger_love. she said she was so jealous of my super-kawaii lj name.

it was really frustrating when i started this journal, because i was still trying to use my other one, and i WAS signing on and off and on and off, and then i thought i was signed into one account, but i was really on the other.

hahahaha, probably something like ohtreehugger or something like that, because i'm not so creative anymore.

i think maybe for now it's okay. i might do otherwise in a few months or a year or a century or something. bahahaha.

oh yah. i forgot about the purging thing. :[ rename token ... ? it did?! that would be perfect! too bad.

i don't really like 'icons' or 'graphics' either, but i wanted it to be obvious since i hadn't really 'built a following' yet.

i've been thinking about it pretty extensively. i really like this layout, so i think i'll keep it. or... move it.

if i do move it, i will make a post announcing so, and then i will keep this open so that people can find the new me!

oh geez. this is going to be a lot of work. i'll start now, but it will be a long process for me i think.

ohtreehugger it is! yay. you've convinced me. :] haha.

okay. i made a community - oh_treehugger.

i wasn't going to use the underscore, because normally i hate underscores, but it actually seemed better. like i had a comma or something. oh, treehugger. oh_treehugger. get it?

treehugger_love and treehuggericons are both maintainers, so no matter which one i'm signed into i can post! i'm genius.

i haven't done a single thing except make it - so, yah.

i will! thank you! i don't know what i'll need yet either, but i will definitely need something, i am sure! even if it's just opinions. i love getting opinions [even though i usually do the exact opposite >_> how obnoxious.]

yah. i get opinions because i'm not able to decide for myself, but then when they say, choose b, and i realize how sad i am without a, they just helped me choose! but then they're always like 'why did you ask?!' and when i explain that, they still don't get it.

it's sticking out though. :[ but that's okay. yah! the girl who made this is like.... genius. oh geez.
